An article that speaks to me
NEW YORK -
Six months ago, Ms Brianna Karp found herself living in an old truck and camper, after being laid off last year.
...
Back in early April, Ms Karp had run across a casting call for a reality show that was to feature executive assistants. She auditioned, but froze due to nerves and felt she had missed the chance. A couple of days after the disaster, she emailed Elle advice columnst E Jean Carroll asking: "How does one get another shot when one screws up a job interview?"
Ms Carrollput the letter in the August edition of Elle, telling her emailer: "Miss Homeless, my dear: You don't 'get' another shot. You take it."
The columnist had looked Ms Karp up on the Internet and was impressed by her "highly enteraining blog".
She offered Ms Karp a US$150-a-month telecommuting internship of four months, explaining: "You knocked me out with your courage and spirit", and concluded: "At the end of the four months, if you don't have a job and an awesome place to live, I will become your intern."

it's not the end of a journey; it's a start of a new adventure
