friends and flaws
Was posted this question (or somewhat similar question) today:
"Will you overlook your friend's flaws or force he/she to change for the better? (Hypothetically, he/she finds it hard to correct them)"
If the person were your friend, and do treasure the friendship, i guess overlooking the flaws will be the best thing to do. Accept our friends for what they are, 'cos no one's perfect.
I appreciate that people bother to point out my weaknesses/flaws honestly (yeah, the truth hurts - take it in my stride but i'll keep those in mind). For knowing thy flaw is a self-discovering journey. Do not mind me, I tend to point out people's flaws, that's because I feel it's good for them to know - i sincerely apologize if I did say anything that you all didn't want to hear *stuff earplugs into your ears* Yeah, it usually comes off as being too direct and that i have low EQ. I've always believe in telling my friends (that's if i bother to tell you..) the truth (no matter how ugly).
"I'm like that, and my friends should accept me as I am." Sounds vaguely familiar? 'Cos that was one of my frequent past comments. Indeed, friends who are true to you will accept you - as a whole package. But come to think of it, maybe brushing the negative comments off casually isn't exactly helpful. I'm not exactly saying that one have to go through a extensive character makeover, it's perfectly fine being thyself, however it's time to be more aware of the consequences of our actions. We tend to criticize others ever so readily, but it's always good remember to look back at our (necessarily ugly) reflection.
If you make a conscious effort to change (even it's only that little bit), people will start to notice in time to come (and i hope they really can wait till then). Though the process might be lengthy and arduous, press on. It's just a part of life.
Ain't everyone trying to be perfect? At least you did attempt to move a step closer to being that 'perfect' person
