feeling v worn out now. i'm just tired from studying. real tired.
was thinking how carefree to be a kid. I can paint the sky yellow, orange, black or anything colour i liked. As a kid, creativity has no boundaries.
However, somewhere along the way, my imagination was curbed by what-claims-to-be-world-class-education. Studying became the key to success to life, just keep memorizing notes, and write out the physics/chemistry concepts for the umpteenth time, and solve countless maths problem sums. Everything in life suddenly became about grades, without a good grade, you can't get a good conventional job. Somehow, studying became a chore rather than an enjoyment. In the midst of hectic school life, I guess I lost part of who I am, truly. I am reduced to becoming one of those; Without a passion, Without an aim in life. Grades became the priority and the fact that I am unable to attain excellent results is horribly depressing. Well, it's a bit too late to regret as a Year 4 Student. Big fish eat small fish, this is society. Ultimately, I'm a small fish destined to be eaten.
Epic failure: Singapore Education system. Just look at the news reports of the numerous holiday course for kids (can you believe it?). School holidays are losing its meaning in the Singapore context. There is no such things as holidays. Suck it up. It is apparent how this education system, which emphasizes on grades rather than other soft skills, is failing. Passion, is the key thing that the education system is killing. Look at the kids, how many activities that they signed up for are really what they want or interested in? Most of them are just following their parents' wishes. More is better, then you have the edge over others.
Not very optimistic on job prospects. Even most of the ads in the papers states 'Good Honours" as a prerequisite. On top of that, my lacking eloquence is nonetheless another setback. Reality bites. Ouch.
A lost soul in this kind of society.
